(see I did finish last night)
The seventh in No.1 Ladies Detective series. As always a delightful, charming read. The “voice” is perfect – and demonstrates how Alexander McCall Smith must really know Africa. Mma Ramotswe and her assistant Mma Matuktsi are such great characters. I felt there were a slightly darker tone to this novel – in it Mma Ramotswe talks of poverty in Africa, and makes a reference to the problems of HIV. But nontheless it is always lovely to read these books, and I have had this one TBR for ages – and don’t know why I didn’t read it sooner.
